Balance

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. – Steve Jobs

Surfers because they are exposed to the wild, have something that most of society has lost. Most of society is completely cut off from the wild, completely cut off from the natural world. They live in climate controlled automobiles or offices or houses or whatever they are. In this day and age where you have such fractured societies – who is there more prepared and more globalized and more integrated into the natural world and the global community than surfers? – Drew Kampion

Obtaining material on the world web is effortless.  Discovering interesting, relevant and accurate information is, and always has been, up to the due diligence of the individual.  The reader is encouraged to question ideas, experiences or philosophies documented in this record.

This journal is not an attempt to identify ourselves as experts in any one topic from predicting future economic or investment trends to identifying pthe perfect lifestyle.  Our perceptions of many current trends and past events are based on extensive research and direct experiences.  We intend to document many resources so the individual may further expand upon cited topics.

Personal occurences cited in this journal are from perception and may have changed over time.  Our viewpoint of many events may be different than what is reported by the media or academic disciplines.

We believe there is no substitute for real experience.  Fundamental research from hard data in many fields may aid in our perspective but we greatly value practical contact with and observation of facts or events.  Much like a competent detective or investigative journalist we enjoy seeking information from a myriad of resources.
Individual freedom and reason constitute our philosophy.

We have been fortunate to have contact with many great individuals with incredible personal resumes.  One of the most important lessons we continue to learn is there is often no one rule that works in every situation and, despite continued technological advances, there is often no better education than direct understanding by personal events.
